It's finally here - Christmas Eve - the prelude to the celebration of Christmas. It is awesome to know that all of my Christmas wishes have already all come true! They are the best presents anyone could ever receive.

1) My daughter home from college

2) My son graduated on 12/20/08 and now officially Dr. Sean Spaulding, Doctor of Chiropractic

3) My son home for Christmas safely in that little car of his.

4) The rest of my family and friends safe and snug in their homes as well

5) A White Christmas

6) All of us in good health (except for a few creaky old bones). 

I hope that each and everyone have all your dreams and wishes come true. I know that I have many dreams and goals for the year 2009 and I hope you do as well and I wish each and everyone of you success, peace, health and happiness in your lives in the upcoming year.

Active Rain and its many members have been quite an active part of my life for the last three months and I am honored to be a member along with so many other great members. I hope I can contribute as much as others and learn more each and everyday. We are never too old to learn that is the one of the biggest lessons I have learned as well from Active Rain as I read the many inspiring, educational, fun and heartfelt blogs!  Thank all of you for letting the rest of us into yourlives!

May the Spirit of Christmas carry with you throughout the year as we embrace the ever changing world and reach for  our dreams.

In a recent blog (There are no dreams too big....No mountain too high. A young man from Allyn, WA reaches the top and never stops dreaming), I couldn't hold my excitement any more about my son graduating from college.

Our son received his diploma yesterday as a Dr. of Chiropractic medicine. As a mom, I can't even begin to explain the feelings that are in my heart everytime I think of our son walking up to the podium to receive his diploma - Dr. Sean Benjamin Spaulding, Dr. Of Chiropractic medicine and I beam from ear to ear, it gives me goosebumps, brings tears of joy to my eyes  and warms my heart all at the same time.

While reflecting of the days events, I couldn't help but think of all of my kids and how proud we are of all of them and you know - we did an okay job as parents. I also started to think about the others that had a part in their upbringing. That would be our "village."

They say it takes a village to raise children. It is not just us who participated in his success, it was also  our "village." Our "village"  consists of family, friends and our community of Allyn and Belfair, WA.

Family and friends it's pretty obvious they all had a helping hand, but it goes deeper than that; from the people in the neighborhood they grew up in (LakeLand Village in Allyn, WA), to the staff and teachers in the schools they attended (North Mason Schools, Belfair WA), to the jobs that they have held locally (both in Allyn and Belfair WA). It wasn't just us as parents that helped them grow and learn, it was everyone in our "village." It was also the "village" of people who helped US as parents in times of need whether it be to carpool our kids, run to the store for us, celebrate an event, let us cry on their shoulders or whatever was needed, the "village" was always there.

The weather conditions were making it extremely difficult for traveling between Allyn, WA and Portland, but we were determined to get not just us, but our son as well, there. We did not have room in our truck for everyone, so our good friend, neighbor, and colleague of mine, Rob Drexler, swapped trucks with us (he has a king cab Dodge) so that we could all fit and be safe and attend. We can't thank him enough. Once again our "village" is their to support and help out when need be. 

So to our friends and family of our village, We would like to thank you for all of your support and to let you know that you should all be extremely proud as well of the job that we all did with  the now Dr. Sean Benjamin Spaulding, Doctor of Chiropractic, graduate of North Mason High School in Belfair, WA.
