A home is where memories are made and lives are lived~You have to leave the Emotions at Home to sell your House~

Home is where the heart is

You have to leave the Emotions at Home to sell your House.

It's Okay you are selling your HOUSE not YOUR HOME....

Selling your home is a business decision for your "home and future home." As well as for living your life in the future and making memories.

A home is where memories are made and lives are lived. It is within your heart. That means that your HOME goes where ever you go!

A house is a stick built material  box where you can achieve that. YOUR home is and always will be within your heart, memory and future memories.

No one wants to hear that someone is offering a lower than asking price on their home.

BUT selling your home is a negotiation process.

It is not like going to the grocery store and paying exactly what the grocer is asking for a price. It is an agreement between the buyer and seller of mutually acceptable terms including price.

A HOME IS WORTH WHAT A BUYER IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT AND A SELLER IS WILLING TO SELL IT FOR - A MEETING OF THE MINDS.  A mutually accepted agreement.

It is not a clear cut and dry process by any means and that is one of the many important reasons to use a professional, knowledgeable, local and SKILLED Realtor; to guide you through that process and help you price your home correctly as well as more importantly, look at any and all offers objectively based on your goals as well as the market.

DO NOT LET YOUR HOME EMOTION INTERFERE WITH YOUR HOUSE SALE....

Valerie, this is a direct and honest post to sellers to take the emotion out of the selling process and just arrive at a mutual agreement of price.....the "home" goes with you to your next house!!!

Valerie, I agree with you on the selling end, but when buyers care more about future appreciation than the home it will provide for their family, I don't understand it.  This happens so often in CA where I am still licensed but have worked in Port Townsend, WA for the past 10 years where people do look for a home, more than an investment, even tho that part is important too.  I also find people in this small town do not do as much move up buying as in CA.  They will tend to love their neighborhood, or lot and just keep improving the home they have rather than keep moving on.  Very refreshing and a lot more satisfying atmosphere to sell property in, even tho the compensation is less than 1/3.  It is well worth it for much less stress.

Caren - Thanks so much for stopping by. It can be very emotional for a seller and can really blind them to a good deal.

Sandra - It seems our "slower" paced world brings clients that look for homes to stay and live in and build many many memories. Unless you're an investor it should be a rewarding experience based on where you want to bring your home to in the move up. You are so right about a lot more satisfying as well! My area - Hood Canal-Belfair and Allyn are similiar to Port Townsend. Thanks for coming by Sandra!

Valerie, my sister drove through Belfair recently when the bridge was closed and said it was very similar to Port Townsend and a very beautiful little town.  Hope to make it over there some day.

Well, that's easier said than done, LOL. Many sellers have deep-rooted emotions for their homes, and it's difficult to separate those emotions from the process of actually selling the house. I suggest that sellers linger in each room of the house and say goodbye to those rooms. That helps them to move on. Some sort of closure.

Elizabeth - You aren't kidding it' easier said than done! I just went through one that is the perfect example of too much emotion and a buyer who walked....I'm not superstitious but man if they aren't of the right mind set well......  Thanks for stopping in !

I remember the first house I bought. It was back in the days of a good ol' fashioned Texas handsahke. The Seller spit in his spittoon and said, "Good riddance." Hmmm. Now that I think about it, maybe he was talking to me -- LOL.

Selling a home is usually such a difficult prospect.  The reasons can add layers of emotion.  That is when the sellers especially need an experienced agent to give them the cold hard truth and help them separate from the EQ side to the IQ side.  Nice post.

Suzanne - Thank you for stopping in. It is important they use an agent who can help them work through and seperate the emotiions from the process. Have a great day!
